I'm now on my third trimester..going 8th month to be exact, but i am not complete yet with the newborn essentials. First, i need to depend my shopping hours on hubby who's always busy at work 5 days a week (if lucky). Second, finding my brand of choice for certain items here in Doha is quite difficult. Yes, it's not as easy finding the various adorable baby stuff in Manila. Sad to say, one of the most important items - baby feeding bottles has not completed my list yet. For how many months, I've been waiting for Avent BPA-free bottles to be launched here at Mothercare branches, but having realized it's not available in some major markets & countries for that matter..i don't think i can buy it here before i give birth. Hubby now is in Germany again for a week, and asked him to look for this item, but to no avail. I've been continuously searching about this product, and found out that it is available mostly in the US, Canada & UK. Duh! I should have asked my aunties from London to buy it for us when we met up in Paris last month. But it's too late now. We have still 2 choices though. Ask them to buy it for us in UK & ship it here, or buy it online..whichever is feasible. So why have i been so insistent with this Avent BPA Free Bottle? Oh well, i have tried this brand since Miggy was born, and i even have the breast pump that goes with it. I have no problems using those bottles to him, until this BPA issue came & scared fussy moms.
Anyway, of the important things so far that we have bought for our next baby is a Maclaren Techno XLR buggy. I didn't have any plans of investing with a stroller as pricey as this but we had no choice. When we went out of the country for a family vacation last month, hubby didn't want to bring Miggy's stroller believing that our 3 year old toddler was strong enough to walk & promenade around. But just a few days of stay in Mainz, Miggy kept on complaining about his tired & aching feet every now & then, so hubby & I decided to buy a new stroller - something that can be both useful for Miggy during the trip & for his upcoming baby sister. So the sales lady at Wirth helped us out and gave us the best pick. She suggested this brand & type that suites Miggy's weight & height. The Techno XLR comes in 4 colors, but i chose this one - Coffee Brown/Soft Blue to make it more neutral.
This pushchair might be more expensive than other brands but I'm confident about its functionality & durability which was designed by aeronautic engineers. Plus, I love it's stylish design. It has an adjustable handle which is appropriate for hubby's height, has reclining 4 seat positions, and UV protective viewing window just to name a few.
The buggy comes with a foot muff that provides extra warmth protection for the baby, just right when I'm due this winter.
And because we wanted to check it in with our luggage during our trip and needed to store it at home before the coming of the new babe, we opted to buy the carry bag which comes with a luggage tag and useful to put other accessories too.
The Maclaren Techno XLR is really a good buy..and the best thing, we were able to avail of a tax refund at the airport.

Buy it online and ship it via aramex shop and ship for cheaper shipping. You have to pay QR 100 though, to register/get address in UK and US for aramex shop and ship. Then, aramex will ship your stuff to Doha. It's a one time fee so it's ok. There are a lot things not available in Doha especially baby stuff.
Thanks Nina, hubby actually told me about this a while ago. Would it be cheaper that way? Or should i ask my aunt to buy the stuff & let her ship it to us?
Aside from QR100 riyals, do i need to pay them again for the shipment?
