Could it be virus or just a coincidence?

Warning: Excuse me for this blog, we have an alleged intestinal virus roaming in the house. It was a taxing week for us. Everyone in the household except me (knock on wood) suffered from diarrhea & vomiting. First, it was my dad. We dine-out last Saturday after a relaxing time at the Corniche. We came home late after the dinner and during the wee hours of the morning, symptoms have struck him. I was too afraid that time, thinking he was vomiting due to high blood pressure but thank God we ruled that out after i checked on his BP. We just gave him an oral dehydrating solution, after a day he was fine. The night after, it was Miggy. He was so uneasy and cannot sleep telling us that he wants to poop but he did not. He fell asleep after a while then i went on with my night routine of surfing the net. At 1 am i heard him crying inside our bedroom. I went in and surprised to see him bathed in his vomit after which he had hourly episodes. Fearing that he might get dehydrated we decided to bring him to the children's emergency hospital at 4:30am. The doctor did not find any infection & Miggy had no fever at all. He said it was a food intolerance, having asked me which food he has eaten before he went to sleep. Miggy was given a shot of injection for vomiting and was prescribed with the same medicine in oral suspension plus a pediatric dehydrating solution. Well, he did not like the taste so it was really a struggle. He has lost some weight already, still recuperating that until now he has no appetite yet. Yesterday, it was my mom & hubby who were victims. After our lunch at home, we went malling as part of our weekend leisure. Prior to leaving the house and without us knowing, mom had already stomach upset. We again had dinner at a restaurant inside the mall, but mom just opted to have a bowl of soup. Hubby ordered for a dish that i normally eat there and immediately after dinner felt some discomfort already. He threw up at the restos' toilet which in a way temporarily cured his uneasiness (he feels sick up to now). We went home thinking that everything was just fine when after an hour mom already suffered severe stomach pain and vomited, thankfully though that the symptoms subsided easily. A few days ago i woke up with my stomach churning. The whole day i felt nauseated with my muscles aching that i just lay on the bed and rested. I'm not sure if the virus hit me that time, because i suffered the least. Might be that i'm blessed with the strongest immune system in the family...or im just so meticulous as what they always tell me. I hope i'll be continuously spared from this whatever-alleged-virus that tormented us the whole week.

Sounds awful! Sounds like a virus, but I have had plenty of bad stomaches - and one case of food poisoning after eating out in Doha. Then, when I was eating at a Turkish restaurant the other day I saw how the waiter cleaned the plate - with his bare hands, which he then wiped on his backside! No wonder we get ill!
